Karika 46

एषAlternative: एषो प्रत्ययसर्गो विपर्ययाशक्तितुष्टिसिद्धाख्यःAlternative: विपर्ययाऽशक्तितुष्टिसिद्धाख्यः
गुणवैषम्यविमर्दात्तस्य च भेदास्तु पञ्चाशत्॥ ४६॥

Translation by Henry Thomas Colebrooke (1837): This is an intellectual creation, termed obstruction, disability, acquiescence, and perfectness. By disparity of influence of qualities the sorts of it are fifty.
Translation by John Davies (1881): This is an intellectual production (or evolved state) which is distinguished by the names of obstruction, incapacity, acquiescence (or contentment), and perfection. By the hostile influence (vimarda, destruction, ravage, hostile attack) of modal inequalities (or specific differences) the different kinds are fifty.
Translation by Ganganath Jha (1896): This is an intellectual creation, distinguished by Error, Disability, Contentment and Perfection. By the hostile influence of the inequalities of attributes, the different forms of this creation become fifty.
Translation by Nandalal Sinha (1915): This is the creation of Buddhi, termed ignorance, incapacity, complacency, and perfection. And from the conflict of the Guṇas in unequal degree of strength, its sorts, again, are fifty.
Translation by Har Dutt Sharma (1933): This is a creation of intellect, and is distinguished as ignorance, incapacity, contentment and attainment. On account of the conflict among the inequalities of the attributes, this (creation) has fifty varieties.
Translation by Radhanath Phukan (1960): This is the sense-world created by the Buddhi, its distinguishing characteristics are false knowledge (Viparyaya), infirmities (Aśakti), complacency (Tuṣṭi), and true knowledge (Siddhi); from these arise fifty different impediments to true knowledge; and all these differences are due to the modes of working of the three Guṇas.
Translation by Swami Virupakshananda (1995): This is the creation of the Buddhi, termed as ignorance, disability, contentment, and perfection. From the mutual suppression of the Attributes due to their inequalities, the different forms of this become fifty.
Translation by G. Srinivasan (recent): The axiomatically ascertained order of the spectrum of manifest states due to the interactive combinations are defined as non-synchronised, balanced and coherent & synchronised states. Permutations and combinations caused by the interplay of the three Guna modes of interaction results in a variety of states numbering 50 orders (power index).
